Wineries
The oldest winery in the Appellation Navarra, is located to the north of the denomination and in the middle of the Way of Saint James. The proximity to these 1,500 km of route is showed in the architecture of our building. Way of kings, abbots and monks, its influence was fundamental in the first wines of the region. History, tradition and new techniques come together in our winery. A symbol of this past is our barrel room with unique architecture, where our wines rest in select French and American oak barrels.
All this work is developed with the experience and extensive experience of more than 130 years of work that supports us.
Castillo de Eunate
Meeting point for pilgrims on the Route of Santiago, is the Castle of Eunate. This enigmatic octagonal-shaped construction keeps an even more starling interior. Eunate, “one hundred doors” in Basque, harbors its mysterious origin in Los Templarios. Located in the Valdizarbe area, land of vineyards and valleys, the vineyards surround this temple. Vineyards that we find inside each bottle of this wine. Eunate is history and mystery.
Winemakers
Victor and David Fernández de Manzanos are the fifth generation of a family dedicated to wine´s world, more than 130 years committed body and soul to the cultivation of the vine and the elaboration of quality wines in DOCa Rioja, one of the most relevant appellations in the world.
The Fdez. De Manzanos brothers were born in the land of wine par excellence which have grown between vineyards, wineries and wines, currently are dedicated body and soul to develop the legacy received in 2010 by the previous 4 generations, from that year began a rigorous work on finding the most exclusive terroirs, selection of the best grapes, and overseeing every elaboration in order to achieve its consistent goal: “to share with us your passion, WINE.”
Vineyards
DO Navarra has an exceptional climate and soils for the production of high-quality wines. Our vineyards are distributed in different strategic points throughout the appellation, which allows us to explore the qualities of each terroir and its singularities, in this way we are able to make a selection in each estate to make each type of wine. In turn, the viticulture we practice is sustainable, always respecting the environment.
Terroir
The confluence of the Atlantic and Mediterranean climates continental, the proximity of the Cantabrian Sea, the influence of the Pyrenees and the closeness of the valley of Ebro river make an exceptional location for the growth of our vines. One of the main characteristics that define our vineyards in Navarra is the great diversity of soils and climates finding all kinds of enclaves such as hillsides, riverbanks, plateaus and plains.
The main components of soils of our vineyards of Navarre are clays, limestones, silts and round stones.
All the above, together with our glass or trellised vines, build an ideal ecosystem for the development of our vineyards.
Variedades de uva
Red: Garnacha Tinta, Cabernet Sauvignon, Graciano, Merlot, Mazuelo, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Tempranillo.
White: Chardonnay, Garnacha Blanca, Sauvignon Blanc, Viura, Malvasía and Moscatel.
